Musical ALMA

Celebration of the 10th production of Carmen Mota’s dance show

The new show, Alma, performed by the Carmen Mota ballet, offers surprises through a series of choreography based on plays of well-known authors and famous Spanish rhythms.
The spectator is taken on a journey through a world which contains both purest Flamenco and innovative elements of Spanish classic music. Alma is a dance show which, within the category of Spanish dance in the 21st century, combines traditional and modern elements. It will be produced and conducted by Joaquín Marcelo.

Carnaval de Arona 2011

The city council of the Arona cordially invites you to events under the banner of “The Circus“ which are part of the 2011 Carnival. Every Thursday, until the 25th of March, there are performances of Folk Dance taking place in the Plaza de la Moncloa and in the Paseo Marítimo de Los Cristianos (free entry). The goal of this ambitious project is to give tourists and the inhabitants of Arona a better understanding of Canarian folklore.

 

Musical: Forever King of Pop

From the 31st of March until the 3rd of April, the Musical “Forever King of Pop“ will be performed at the Pavillon Santiago Martín, in La Laguna. The musical is a tribute to the late King of Pop (Michael Jackson). Accompanied by special effects, more than 30 artists take you on a trip though musical time. “Forever King of Pop” has already been seen by more than 300.000 people. Ticket from 25 to 45 euro.

 

Russian state ballet

The Russian State Ballet performs “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty” at Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

23rd of April at 07.00pm: Swan Lake

Festival 7 Islas

With the beginning of the Fiesta de San Marco, which culminates in the probably best-liked pilgrimage (Romeria) of the Canarian Islands, the village of Tegueste transforms into a colourful and bustling place. In the early evening, prior to the festivities, the best Canarian folklore artists meet and celebrate the folkloric gathering of the seven Canarian Islands which takes place for the 22nd time this year.

The pilgrimage of San Marco, celebrated every year on the nearest Sunday to the 25th of April, is one of the Island’s best folkloric festivals. With the most participants this pilgrimage marks the beginning of the Romeria season, and there are events which can be seen in many towns throughout the summer. With regards to the festivity programme, it can be said that the folkloric festival of the 7 Islands definitely stands out. Every year it attracts several folkloric groups of high quality which come from different parts of the archipelago.
