The FU International Academy offers training courses for non-native teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE - Español como Lengua Extranjera).
Learning Spanish is in great demand so it is time to up-date your skills. Participants will learn new teaching techniques and will focus on the culture of Spain and Latin America. The course will include modules on teaching the more complex aspects of Spanish grammar as well as modules to refresh and develop existing skills.
Throughout the course the participants are offered professional support by a Spanish
teacher, and excellent opportunities to exchange impressions and ideas about the linguistic and cultural aspects of Spain with their colleagues from other countries.
Aims
- To review and improve language skills: oral fluency, listening skills, vocabulary building and grammar
- To reflect on the role of educators and explore the different aspects of teaching a second language to all levels of learners
- To evaluate different approaches to teaching and learning
- To review new teaching materials, tools and resources
- To update knowledge of Hispanic culture: trends, lifestyle, politics, culture, geography

- Teacher observation in one of our Spanish courses on request.
Leisure and culture activity programme The afternoon and evening activity programmes include: cultural visits, tennis, padeltennis, beach-volleyball, salsa dancing, a party night, flamenco lessons, etc. Also we organise cultural visits and weekend excursions (cost of transport may be extra).

This programme fulfils the requirements for Spanish teachers who work within the European Union (EU) and can benefit from the employment training grants available in the field of language teaching.
For participants from EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey the Lingua/Comenius Programme within the EU Life long Learning scheme covers the cost of the course, the accommodation and travel to Tenerife.
